Hi Fran. There are varying degrees of reputation management, it’s most commonly known when a business or person is dealing with negative reviews and negative articles that appear in the search results. This can really hurt a business, especially when the information isn’t true, or is exaggerated – or even created by a competitor with the intention of hurting a brands online presence and reputation.

Monitoring is a great way to be proactive and diffuse it before it becomes an awful situation.

Glad you found the post informative. :) http://www.evotivemarketing.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php#comments-form

Setting up Google Alerts is one effective tool to monitor what is being said about one’s business. Using the right keywords can also help identify if content is being copied/scraped somewhere.

This is a hot topic, Aileen! I’ve ghost-written a lot of content for clients about reputation management. Today, more than ever, businesses must be alert because interaction has become so much easier, making them accessible to their market through social media. Naturally, there WILL be conversation good and not so good. People love sharing when they’re not so happy :-)

Nice post!

Hi Vidya, I didn’t realize you’re a ghost writer. Glad to know that :)

It is increasing more important to be aware and monitoring what people are saying since we’re more public in our conversations. It’s a changing society and businesses need to adjust.

Thank you for stopping by :)
